We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of all site facilities, utilities, and building services at Surface Transforms.
This is a hands-on role, supporting manufacturing operations through planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance, safety, and high standards across our site in a fast-paced, high-performance engineering environment.
Key responsibilities of our Facilities Maintenance Technician
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across site facilities
- Maintain building fabric including floors, doors, walls, roofs, lighting, and basic plumbing
- Support maintenance of HVAC, compressed air, water, and electrical systems
- Ensure utilities and services remain operational to support production
- Work in compliance with all Health & Safety regulations, company procedures, and risk assessments
- Support statutory inspections (fire systems, emergency lighting, PAT testing, lifting equipment)
- Identify and report hazards, defects, or non-conformances
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Assist with coordination and supervision of external contractors
- Support facilities projects, upgrades, and site improvements
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and site issues
- Assist with site moves, layout changes, and installation of equipment
- Support continuous improvement of facilities systems and processes
What you’ll be doing as our Facilities Maintenance Technician
- Ensuring facilities and utilities operate safely, reliably, and efficiently at all times
- Minimising downtime to support production and quality objectives
- Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance to maintain operational excellence
- Supporting statutory inspections, audits, and compliance activities
- Collaborating with Production, Engineering, and Health & Safety teams to resolve issues
- Assisting with projects, upgrades, and site improvements as required
The skills, knowledge and experience you’ll need
Essential
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Electrical or mechanical qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, apprenticeship)
- Experience with PPM systems or CMMS
- Good working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
- Understanding of Health & Safety requirements in an industrial/manufacturing environment
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Desirable
- Forklift, IPAF, or other relevant site licences
